DOG BITE INJURIES

A dog owner is required to control/restrain his or her animal in order to ensure public safety. An animal's owner is liable for any damage that their animal causes if the animal trespasses on another property. Owners must ensure that their animals are restrained from roaming off their premises. Animals must also be leashed when in public. Even if the animal is on the owner's property, the owner may be responsible for any injury caused if the owner knew that the animal had a propensity for violent behavior or had attacked in the past.
